Seamless Integration Across OSes — Sounds familiar. . .

VMware has just, with great fanfare, demonstrated at VMworld a Windows phone running Andriod apps. They made a big fuss about the "seamless integration" that allowed starting the Andriod app from an icon on the Windows desktop.

If that sounds somehow familiar to you, then you are right: This is exactly what the Motorola Evoke does. But while VMware showed a "prototype" using a product they haven't even released, the Evoke is out there in end-users pockets, and has been there for about half a year. I really failed to detect anything new in the demo and, given the mobile phone development time lines, this means VMware are at least two years behind us. VMware are playing catchup, but pretend they have innovated the greatest thing since bottled beer.

Also, you may have noticed them talking about security. But they can't even dream of having the sort of bullet-proof security that is enabled by our verification technology.

And then, did you notice how sluggish Android was on their phone? Each time he was trying to click on something, Srinivas had to make several attempts to see some action. My Android phone doesn't do this, does yours? Nor does the Evoke (which runs on a much less powerful processor). Could it be that their hypervisor has performance problems? I can't answer this, all I know is that whenever potential customers evaluate OKL4 against the VMware hypervsior, we win on performance.

All up, what a nice way to demonstrate who is the leader in mobile virtualization: OK Labs, of course. Try catching up guys, but we're running fast!
