Steve at MWC: LTE Buzz at MWC

While most people think of Mobile World Congress as a “handset show”, it is also the locale where global carriers and operators build buzz around roll out of new networks and services. 2010 is truly the year of LTE (Long Term Evolution). This year, the emerging LTE community announced “One Voice” over LTE, an effort to standardize voice and SMS communication over 4G networks.

As 4G progresses from hype to working specification to prototype to rollout, mobile virtualization is becoming increasingly important as an enable for these new capabilities, supporting secure access, legacy migration, and more robust implementation of multiple 4G capabilities on a range of devices.
