The Motorola Evoke and what makes it tick

I have just written a white paper on the Motorola Evoke, and how it uses virtualzation to run two separate operating-systems environment on a single ARM9 processor. I specifically look at how OKL4 is used to make the Evoke work, and how it delivers a better user experience than some phones with more powerful dedicated processors.

I would have loved to go into more technical depth, but there were proprietary constraints wink

About Gernot Heiser:

Gernot Heiser, Co-founder and Consulting Scientist, never thought he would be in the business world. Prior to NICTA's creation in 2003, Dr Heiser was a full-time faculty member at the University of New South Wales. However, this die-hard academic couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see the commercialization of this research. Gernot still loves teaching, almost as much as he loves good wine and good food. And anyone will tell you that Gernot knows his wine.
