CompanyOverviewOpen Kernel Labs' (OK) technology leadership in embedded operating systems and virtualization technology enables the development of reliable, trustworthy and affordable devices. |
OK's open-source microkernel operating system, OKL4, offers the highest proven performance plus IP rights protection in order to provide developers with a robust, open-source platform for building secure, differentiated embedded applications.
OK is a spin-off from the prestigious NICTA Centre of Excellence. The spin-out team has a track record of building several operating systems, and holding performance world-records for microkernels. We will continue to collaborate closely with NICTA and the associated operating-systems group of the University of New South Wales. OK therefore has access to a highly-experienced team of world-class operating-systems researchers and students.
OK provides customer-specific development, system architecture, porting, training and support for the OKL4 microkernel operating system and other related technologies. Even before the spin-out, research and deployment engagements with Qualcomm and Ericsson were announced. OK has since significantly expanded its customer base in the wireless and consumer electronics markets.
