The most widely deployed mobile virtualization solution
Dan Potts – globetrotting technologist and code-obsessed yachtsman – pilots the teams responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting OKL4 technology and products. A member of the General Dynamics Broadband team since its spin-off from NICTA, Dan guides the long-range strategic vision for mobile virtualization solutions and direction of the General Dynamics Broadband product line.
Dan has an impressive range of experience in information technology. Before joining the General Dynamics Broadband team, Dan worked as a senior research programmer at NICTA where he architected OKL4 for simultaneous multithreading and symmetric multiprocessing, which established the foundation for General Dynamics Broadband multiprocessor platforms. Prior to NICTA he served as a senior software engineer for Silicon Valley-based Electronics for Imaging, building embedded real-time systems and intelligent devices. Dan also worked in high-performance computing at API Networks, a Boston-based startup.
Under the tutelage of General Dynamics Broadband co-founder Dr. Gernot Heiser, Dan earned a doctorate in Distributed Shared Memory Systems, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of New South Wales.
