Rob McCammon, VP of Product Management at Open Kernel Labs, to present at ARM Developers’ Conference on the security benefits of virtualization in embedded systems.

Virtualization is frequently touted as a mechanism for increasing the security of system. Looking at the security challenges facing modern embedded systems, McCammon will explain the ways in which the proper implementation of virtualization can meet modern security challenges.

McCammon will illustrate why a small trusted computing base is an essential part of architectural approaches to system security, and why system security is not met by virtualization alone. He will outline a general approach to this problem and discuss how to achieve better security while maintaining the benefits of virtualization.
