CHICAGO AND SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA -August 13, 2007—Open Kernel Labs (OK), a global provider of operating systems and virtualization technology for embedded systems, today named Marti Konstant Vice President of Marketing. With a successful track record of sales and marketing with firms such as Apple Computer, Tellabs, Dow Jones and International Paper, Konstant will lead OK’s branding strategy, market definition, and the development of a worldwide communications strategy to generate revenue growth. Most recently the VP of Marketing at zunpartners, a marketing and branding consultancy, Konstant pioneered a highly successful process-driven approach to brand development. A mix of brand research and definition integrated with business strategy and the voice of the customer was used to build and position corporate brands such as Baker & McKenzie, Deloitte & Touche, Nelnet and the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago for market success. “Marti Konstant has the marketing skills necessary for our rapidly growing, global software company,” said Steve Subar, CEO and Co-Founder of OK. “The high level of her corporate experience, branding success and communications strategy will quickly bring the message of OK’s proven, high performance technology to today’s developers of mobile and other embedded devices.” Konstant began her career by establishing a marketing communications firm specializing in meeting the marketing needs of early stage companies such as Tellabs, Westell, and Platinum Technology (Computer Associates). Marti Konstant has a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
