March 17, 2010
CHICAGO – March 17, 2010 – Open Kernel Labs (OK Labs), the leading global provider of embedded virtualization software for mobile phones and broadband Internet devices, today announced it was named a Startup of The Year finalist in TechInsight's EE Times Sixth Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards (www.eetimes-ace.com). Open Kernel Labs was selected as a finalist for its excellence in business and technology development processes as a market leader in the global electronics industry.
Open Kernel Labs accomplished a number of milestones in the previous three years, including a partnership with major industry player Citrix, announcing the “nirvana phone” concept; announcing the world’s first virtualized phone, the Motorola Evoke QA4; and solutions for several OSes, including Android, Linux, and Symbian.
“To be selected as a finalist in such a competitive arena is recognition that OK Labs has, in only three short years, made a significant impact in the mobile virtualization space,” said Steve Subar, President and CEO of OK Labs. “We bring to market the most widely deployed mobile virtualization solution, and are in more than 500 million devices to date.”
