MEDIA ALERT
Who: Ram Sarabu, Senior Product Manager
What: Keynote Address: “Emerging Trends in Mobile Virtualization”
When: March 9, 2010 at 12:30pm
Where: RTECC - Hilton Lisle/Naperville (Chicago)
Sarabu will discuss how the entire mobile ecosystem benefits when virtualization concepts are applied specifically to smartphones. Server virtualization and desktop virtualization have been widely adopted and well understood in the IT industry arena for a long time. However, embedded virtualization is a fairly new technology that addresses problems unique to embedded devices.
Android, Symbian, and Windows Mobile operating systems are rapidly innovating and expanding smartphone markets. Sarabu will explain how these new trends in the mobile industry are offering challenges to device manufacturers, semiconductor suppliers, and mobile network operators. He will also show how mobile virtualization plays a critical role in addressing these challenges. Finally, Sarabu will demonstrate how mobile virtualization from OK Labs enables smartphones as flexible endpoints for enterprise applications.
As a senior product manager, Sarabu works with customers and partners to identify market opportunities and develop a cohesive strategy for Open Kernel Labs products. Prior to OK Labs, he worked for over a decade in product development and product management roles in the mobile industry. Ram holds a masters in business administration from the University of Chicago and a masters in electrical engineering from Michigan Technological University.
