What is Virtualization?

Virtualization is technology for supporting execution of computer program code, from applications to entire operating systems, in a software-controlled environment. Such a Virtual Machine (VM) environment abstracts available system resources...

Rob McCammon to speak at RTECC Conference in Dallas, TX

February 26, 2008

MEDIA ALERT

Who: Rob McCammon, VP of Product Management
What: No-Compromises: The Truth about Security, Reliability, and Virtualization for Linux Devices
When: March 25, 2008 Time TBD
Where: RTECC - Plano Texas Convention Center  (Dallas)

Rob McCammon will present at RTECC Dallas, discussing the benefits of the OK Labs high-performance microkernel, OKL4. The value of the Linux ecosystem is driving more developers to use Linux in embedded systems. However, running Linux directly on device hardware introduces new challenges to device reliability and security, says McCammon. He plans to elucidate the value of the OKL4 solution, which allows developers to get the full benefit of Linux while architecting a more reliable and more secure product.

McCammon will also discuss virtualization as one of the solutions addressing the problem of software complexity in today’s modern embedded computing devices. He will explain how OK Labs advanced microkernel solves the challenges of security, reliability, and trustworthiness in designing and developing devices. As a result, devices are brought to market that maintain high performance levels but at lower cost and in a fraction of the time that was thought possible.
